Homer Fishing Reports

The bounty is plentiful in Homer, Alaska.  The halibut fishing is good in April, and each month it just gets better, peaking in July.  The optimal times for King Salmon are in May and June, with yet another run in July.  These are the beasts from legends, ranging from 25 to 70 pounds.  Kachemak Bay harbors Feeder Kings year-round while they grow into the mature Salmon that go into the rivers to spawn. These fighters range from 15 to 30 pounds.  Mid-August brings the Silvers, through mid-September.  A blast to catch, Silver Salmon practically dances on the water while you’re reeling them in.
