Homer Flight Seeing

The flight-seeing opportunities in and around Homer and Kachemak Bay are spectacular: from glacier-clad mountain peaks and massive snow fields, to active volcanoes, Homer’s aerial scenery will astound you. Fly west and see brown bear in their undisturbed habitat. Fly east and see Dall Sheep and Mountain Goats. Fly over Kachemak Bay State Park to the rugged and inhabited outer coast that forms the Gulf of Alaska and the Kenai Fiords National Park. Consider landing in a remote lake for lunch surrounded by a solitude that few experience, and none forget. Here’s one secret: combine flight-seeing with a trip to one of several predominantly native communities around the Bay, Seldovia or Nanwalek. Another secret, consider combining a fishing trip to Delight or Desire Lakes in McCarty Fiord, or land on the outer coast in Nuka Bay for a deserted beach walk.
