Homer Guided Fresh Water Fly Fishing

The Kenai Peninsula is a mecca for fly fishing enthusiasts and  Homer is surrounded by some of the best fly fishing in the world. Whether you are a novice seeking wide, slow moving water and lake systems, or an experienced angler, there are plenty of exciting opportunities to test your light line and fly casting skills. The freshwater lakes, streams and rivers around Homer and the surrounding Kachemak Bay State Park offer fantastic opportunities to catch King, Red and Silver Salmon, Rainbow and Dolly Varden Trout,  and Arctic Char. Homer is 15 minutes the famous Anchor River, one of Alaska’s best Steelhead Fisheries in Alaska. The Anchor River also hosts King and Silver Salmon, as well as Dolly Varden trout. Combine fly-fishing with a Kasilof River Float trip (no motorized boats allowed) to double your fun.

Several streams with fresh water fly fishing opportunities are across Kachemak Bay: Soldovia slough; Humpey Creek; Fox and Bradley Rivers.  Rocky River is excellent in early August, hosting several species of Salmon and Trout at the same time, but be sure to research the permits required to traverse native-owned land.

World class fly-out opportunities are accessible from Homer, including Kenai Fiord National Park, Kodiak, Lake Clark , Lake Illiamna, Katmai National Park and numerous remote small streams and coastal estuaries that provide an exclusive and productive fishing experience.

Go out into the untouched streams and rivers that make Alaska the last frontier!
