Homer Water Taxi / Marine Ferry

The marine transportation network in Homer and Kachemak Bay is very reliable and efficient and can get you wherever you want to go. There are three basic modes of transportation: 1) Scheduled public ferry service to large communities such as Seldovia, Kodiak and Dutch Harbor via the Alaska Marine Highway. 2) Scheduled transportation service on smaller tour boats to Seldovia and Halibut Cove that usually offer wildlife viewing opportunities. 3)  Smaller “on-demand” water taxi services, such as Smoke Wagon Water Taxi, Mako’s Water Taxi or Jackalof Ferry Service, to camping, fishing and hiking destinations across Kachemak Bay. Land’s End Resort is directly adjacent to the Ferry Dock, and is the only hotel on the Homer Spit, within walking distance of the small Boat harbor.
