Kenai Hiking

Captain Cook Recreational Park has a few trails, but the best is simply a beach walk from the mouth of Kenai River south to Kasilof River. This is a well kept secret, and often deserted of people. It’s ok for mountain biking on the firm beach below high tide line. Here’s how you get there. Take Kalifornski Beach Road south/west from Soldotna to bridge Access intersection (from Kenai, take bridge access south to intersection with Kalifornski Beach Rd.). Proceed south/west 2 miles and turn right onto Cannery Road. Take left where you see “Beach Access”.
