Seward Winter King Fishing
Winter or “feeder King” Salmon fishing is a truly unique experience for the more adventurous angler, since it can be colder and the water rougher than in summer. However, all of the charters who offer this adventure have heated cabins. Just wear lots of layers and bunny boots! The biggest bonus is fresh fish in the winter.
Feeder King Salmon weigh in at 15 to 60 pounds and feed in Alaska’s coastal waters prior to spawning in the rivers. Feeders can be caught all year in breathtaking Resurrection Bay, but February through April are the most popular and prolific times of year. Not only will you be in the pristine surroundings of Resurrection Bay, but you will be doing what many people only dream of- experiencing the real Alaska, out on the water in the winter elements wrestling a huge King Salmon into the boat.
